Live Fully, Inc is Co-Awarded a $2,559,000 Phase II SBIR grant with Minnesota Health Solutions from the National Institute of Health (NIH) to develop an automated mobile oxygen control system to allow long-term oxygen therapy patients to remain active.

Live Fully, Inc., a patient driven, medical device company developing solutions to improve mobility for long-term oxygen therapy patients, today announced the award of a Phase II Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant from The National Institutes of Health (NIH). The collaborative grant was awarded to support development of Live Fully’s novel closed-loop oxygen delivery control MoblO2. The goal of the system is to improve patient quality of life via an enhanced user interface and controller that optimizes oxygen delivery to significantly reduce shortness of breath during physical exertion while avoiding hyperoxia.

This grant award was made in partnership with Live Fully and Minnesota Health Solutions Corporation (MinnHealth). The grant will support the current development of the MoblO2 product at MinnHealth and clinical testing of prototype MoblO2 which will begin in approximately 12 months. “MoblO2 will provide patients on LTOT the freedom to continue to enjoy a quality of life not currently available to them”, said Tom Vierzba, Co-Founder and Visionary Advisor of Live Fully, Inc. It will provide them with the confidence to know they are getting sufficient oxygen as well as accurately tracking how much oxygen is left in their mobile oxygen tank.
