Amelia Atencio joins the CO-WY Climate Resilience team, overseeing business attraction and talent efforts for Metro Denver EDC
As part of our partnership with NSF Engines, Amelia joins Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce and Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation as part of the CO-WY Climate Resilience Engine to drive corporate attraction and talent growth in Colorado for companies adopting and enabling climate-resilient technologies. From air, soil, and water quality to wildfire mitigation, Amelia’s work will support industries leveraging Advanced Sensing Capabilities for Environmental and Natural Disasters (ASCEND) and monitoring technology to protect natural landscapes and strengthen communities across Colorado and Wyoming.

Over the next decade, The CO-WY Climate Resilience Engine will contribute to the creation of 18,000 jobs, positioning our region as a leader in innovative climate solutions. Amelia’s deep-rooted passion for sustainability stems from growing up in Colorado and learning about renewable energy innovations at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. A Boettcher Scholar at Colorado College and an MBA graduate from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, she brings expertise in consulting, venture capital, and start-ups—key to fostering corporate recruitment and economic resilience in our region.
