illustria Closes Pre-Seed Round led by ICI Fund

The investment will support the scaling of illustria’s SW supply chain security solution.

illustria, an Israeli company that developed a solution to securely integrate SW development tools, announced today the closing of a Pre-Seed Round led by ICI Fund. The round was joined by private investors.   illustria’s solution prevents open-source SW from deploying malicious code during the SW development phase, shifting left to Day 0 cyber security coverage for SW developers.

“illustria brings a unique approach to securing the SW supply chain, “ said Gili Elkin, General Partner, ICI Fund. “illustria’s novel approach to inspecting open-source SW as well as ease of installation and low overhead provides valuable insight for the SecOps and DevOps teams.”

“We are excited to partner with ICI Fund as we grow into the US market,” said Idan Wiener, CEO of illustria.

illustria provides a solution that can be deployed in the cloud or on premise and thoroughly vets the open-source SW package. This includes solving for attacks such as typo-squatting, dependency confusion, virus deployment, and provides traditional SW composition analysis. The solution not only enhances code security, but also eases compliance, SBOM, and licensing challenges.

Innosphere Ventures is a General Partner in the ICI Fund and has worked closely with international companies supporting them with customized growth packages.  This assistance is focused on areas necessary to commercialize the product or service in the United States. “illustria’s value to organizations as they develop SW is clearly to ensure organizational security. Of the numerous cyber-attack vectors, securing code as it is written benefits the organization tremendously. I expect this solution will generate significant interest in the market,” says Tim Jones, General Partner at ICI Fund.

illustria uses innovative techniques to continually update the solution and provides new methods to stop malicious code attacks through features to determine if the code is potentially malicious even prior to downloading. It solves the problem of finding out too late that the SW package incorporated into the code is infectious saving organizational time, money, and reputational damage.
